Today day I must introduce my dog, Willow, who is quite a pride and joy!  In 2008 I begged Jeff to let me have a dog.  In October 2008 he gave in and we adopted Willow from the Animal Rescue Foundation.

From what the ARF new of her history, she was born at the shelter, adopted out for a few months with her kennel mate, Melissa, and both were brought back.  Willow stayed at a foster home for a few months before we adopted her.  And yes, Melissa was re-adopted a few weeks before to a good home.  What I learned from adopting a pet from a shelter is that you don’t go to a shelter to find a dog, you go to a shelter for a dog to find you.  And that she did, as soon as we saw her and said ‘hello’ she hoped in the car and was ready to go.  Willow has taught me what unconditional love really means.  No matter if we leave her in her crate while we are at work (she raids the pantry and jumps on the counter, and we don’t want her to get in something that can hurt her) or we leave her with my parents or Evan for the weekend she is always excited to see us and ready for our full attention.  She is very easy going and sweet natured.  I’ve posted pictures below.  The next words of this post will simply be you saying “Awwww”.

As my first post, I must give credit where credit is due.  To the designer of my blog, Jeff , my husband.  Thank you Jeff for working so patiently with me through the journey of my thoughts of what I wanted this blog to look like.  Now on to the song of mine and Jeff’s journey together…so far.

Jeff and I met in our sophomore year of college at The University of South Alabama.  We came across each other because we were both a part of Symphony Band.  He plays tuba, I play flute (and cello but we’ll get to that later)!  Some people call us Band Nerds but we would prefer Music Enthusiasts.  :)  One day after band, Jeff asked me to lunch.  I said ‘no’ … the first six times.  And I’m not joking, he persistently asked me to go to lunch with him at least once…and I’m glad he did!  :)  After time number six of asking we went to a little restaurant close to campus, called Picklefish, for pizza.  Ever since that lunch I don’t think there has been a day that we haven’t talked to each other.  On December 5, 2003 we went on our first official date to the Pi Kappa Phi (Jeff’s Fraternity) Semi-Formal dance.

Ahhh…the days of being young and carefree!  After three and a half years of dating, Jeff took me to one of my favorite places in the world, Lovers’ Key Beach, Florida and asked me to marry him!

I said “yes” and we were married on May 12, 2007.

We went back to Lovers’ Key Beach for our honeymoon and stopped by Disney World for a few days on the way back up the state of Florida.  Today we still love each other as much, if not more, as we did in 2003.
