One of the best things about living on the Gulf Coast, is it’s beaches! Nothing like looking from a condo balcony to see the blue water and sugary white sand.
On April 20th of this year, the Gulf of Mexico waters were polluted with oil from the explosion of the Deepwater Horizon. The oil soon made it’s way to our beaches leaving the summer season a bust for tourism. This month Gulf Shores had two concerts to hopefully bring people back to the beach and let the world know the beaches are clean and open. The first concert was Friday night and the artist was Bon Jovi! The weather couldn’t have been nicer, not a cloud in the sky.
You were allowed to go in the concert venue at anytime, however, there was a gate about two football fields from the stage keeping concert goers back until that gate opened at 4 o’clock. Let me tell you, once the gates were open people started running to be the first at the stage.
I took a photo of the venue before a bunch of people got there and one before the sun went down.
Of course, Bon Jovi sang some of his hits and crowd favorites such as “Livin’ on a Prayer” and “Shot Through the Heart”. I was quite excited. Jeff even got his picture taken with Bon Jovi.
Anyway, it was an outstanding night! I’ll finish this post with a few more pictures from the concert.
This weekend, our city had it annual BayFest. A three day music event held in the streets of downtown. I’ve been waiting on our local news to announce how many people went to BayFest this year. I saw one article that said in years past there were over 200,000 people and they were expecting this year to be even better. The weather was perfect with sunny skies, highs in the 80s and lows in the 60s. This year there were over 120 performers to include Reba McEntire, Nelly, Skillet, Mary J. Blige, and the group I wanted to see most…Lady Antebellum!
They, of course, put on a fantastic concert playing crowd favorites, and my favorites, like “American Honey”, “Need You Know”, and “I Run To You”.
I’m really excited about about October. I’m get to see three concerts this month. The first being Lady A, then BonJovi and Brad Paisley for the Concerts on the Gulf!
That is a picture of my silly niece wearing my shoes. Of course, they look massive on her feet, she’s three years old. I took a road trip with The Fam to see my sister in B-ham. I thought I share a few pictures from the trip along the way.
Why yes, I pulled over on the side of the road to take this picture. I was quite fascinated by this, so I had to take a picture. It was a hot day out, some cows were standing under the trees in the shade and one was sunning himself. My eyes were really drawn to the really pretty yellow of the flowers in the grass. Pretty cool, huh?
This turned out to be a really cool. I was so close to getting a clear photo! It’s a picture of a grasshopper on the side mirror of the car…poor thing, it was holding on for dear life as Jeff was driving down the road.
This post is to inform you of a post that I will be posting as soon as I get my post posted since I haven’t posted in almost a week. I’m not postponing an entry, I am merely keeping you informed on my inevitable post I will be posting in the near future. Please check back for my new post to be posted this evening.
While this is a post about posting in the future, feel free to post a reply about what you would like to see and expostulate in/with my future posts.
We are all entitle to post that we can post at least one ridiculous post about posting , right?
Now , Im going to leave this post and go enjoy some pistachios.
Oh wait…that is the song associated with baseball. This weekend was the first game of their second season for my college alma mater.
I don’t like to sit down and watch football on TV. I’m a busy-body and sit thinking of what else I could be doing. However, I love to go to a football game…why? To be part of the crowd!
Jeff told me that he doesn’t know me when we go to a football game, I’m not sure why he just stares at me. I don’t know all the rules of football, and sometimes catch myself asking him stupid questions. For example, the other team was snapping the ball (you like how I used a technical term?) , and the quarterback kept dropping the ball. I asked Jeff, “why does he dropping it?” and Jeff simply replied, “because they’re not very good.” Oh well. I cheer, shout, enjoy myself, and often feel helpless because I feel like I should be helping the players or something. Another reason I like going to a football game, you guessed it…the band.
Yay for USA! We won!!!! 56-0
P.S. I’ve upload new photos to my Photos page!
We all have those times when we finish the day a think to ourselves “Where did the day go?” My worst enemy of time is the couch and and a little thing they call a TV. Saturday night I sat down on the couch, had a entire Domino’s thin-crust pepperoni pizza all-by-me-self (as my adorable niece would say) and watch the movie The Backup Plan.
It’s a good movie. Pretty much your typical girl movie. Girl meets guy, girl and guy fall in love, girl and guy marry. Nevertheless, I enjoy those types of movies every time.
Monday after work rolls around and I had a full To Do list. Guess what? I sat on the couch, and that’s all she wrote. Of course on Monday nights my favorite TV shows are on.
And last night we went out for a three hour dinner for a friend’s birthday! Looks like I’m in for a no TV night and plenty of Etudes.
I hope you are having a good week!
This week has been a week of awkward photos for me. The first one was taken at our family reunion. Ha…even my three and a half year old niece is looking beautiful for the camera. There’s always a clown in the family…It’s a hard job but somebody has to do it.
This one was taken at work…
Go ahead, have a good laugh. I sure have.
Yes, I know it is Wednesday and I’m just now reviewing my weekend. But anyway it was quite busy none the less.
First it started with mine and Jeff’s much needed RockBand night. I can’t remember the last time we just spent the entire evening playing RockBand. Our band name is Capn’ Crunch and the CerealKillers … because we’re awesome!!!!!

Saturday morning I went back to Dream Dinners to re-fill our refrigerator for this months delicious meals.

We celebrated Willow’s third birthday.
Then we made it to Bermuda (not the islands) and we got to hang out with my favorite niece. We went out to do a little shopping and then came back to MawMaw and Papa’s house for her to try on her new clothes. She’s growing up so fast. *tear*

In preparation for Bermuda United Methodist Church’s homecoming on Sunday, I made a batch of homemade chocolate chip cookies. No pictures of the cookies because they turned out to be “stupid” cookies. Definition of “stupid” cookies: Cookies that should have turn out right…but didn’t. Source: MawMaw Watson
Then Sunday morning, got dressed went to church for 2010 Homecoming and had a good homecookin’ lunch.

This weekend coming up we are have a family reunion. The Watson Family. (Why did I just sing that in my head to the tune of “The Adam’s Family”?!?!?) Anyway, I’ll be sure to post photos…and you just might be featured.
What’s the best thing to do in the summertime when the projected high is 102 degrees and your home air conditioner is on the brink? Go swimming. The pool was like a hot tub but never the less I enjoyed myself anyway.
Hopefully our air conditioner will be fixed within the next days, weeks, months…who knows. (Thanks Eeyore) Oh, these pictures were taken with my new camera. *wink*
Happy Monday! I don’t know about you, but I’m hoping for a good and uneventful Monday. As I was thinking about this I decided to see what significant events happened on this day in history. Turns out, there are some interesting things that happened on this, what I’m hoping for ” a good and uneventful”, July 26th. I hope none of you are having a bad case of the Mondays!
